Do Christians Love Other People?

The news from the Bible is news about love. The Bible even commands Christians to love their enemies (Gospel of Matthew 5:43-47). Also read the Gospel of John which often tells about God's love. Jesus Christ teaches us to love God and other people as ourselves. Certainly it is not always perfectly practiced, but there are very many examples of Christian love which have been shown to others.

If we pay attention to history honestly and conscientiously, we will quickly know, for example, that the Christian community pays attention to the needs of other people. It was Christians who started the Red Cross and opened hospitals and orphanages everywhere because they saw that there are many people who need help. When there is an earthquake in Turkey or in Bengkulu, a tsunami in Aceh or on Nias Island, the Christian community (and countries which are called Christian) soon give a hand to bring help. Right now Christians are sending millions of dollars to Africa in order to help AIDS/HIV sufferers. When there is poverty and hunger, Christian people willingly and gladly are ready to give aid (for example, LEPKI in Indonesia, etc.).
