How is the Quran Viewed by Christians?

1 October 2012 by Web Administrator 8 Comments

Kitab 01

Christians view all TRUTH as coming from God. The stories in the Quran about Adam, Moses, Isa Al-Masih and other prophets that are in accordance with the Torah, Zabur, and Injil are accepted by Christians. For example, Isa Al-Masih was born miraculously (without a human father) by Mary. Also He was also without sin, did miracles, and raised dead people to life. Both the Quran and the Injil record these facts. These kinds of truths will surely be well received by Christians.

When the contents of the quran agree with the Bible, Christians will agree with it. However,  Christians reject those parts of the Quraran that conflict with the Bible. For example: The Quran says that Jesus was not crucified. This statement rejects the clear teaching of the Bible that Jesus was crucified. This is also a proven fact by secular writers. Thus Christians reject the Quran’s mistake in denying the crucifixion.

The Bible is Holy Scripture

The only book that Christians view as Holy Scripture is the Bible. They believe that this is the only book given by God to man.
To Christians, the Quran is the Muslim’s Holy Scripture. Christians do not accept it as Holy Scripture. Christians only read the Quran to learn more about what Muslims believe.

All of the Bible is Important

Every part of the Bible is of equal importance. Some Christians might say the New Testament, or Injil, is more important because it tells the story and teachings of Isa Al-Masih. This is true. But the Old Testament (Taurat, Zabur, and Nabi) points to Isa Al-Masih. These books give prophecies about Isa so that when He came, His followers knew that He was the Promised One – the Messiah.

Everyone Should Read the Bible

If you haven’t read the Bible, we encourage you to read it. Try to find the Bible in your own language. You will understand it best that way. If you can’t find a Bible in your heart language, most bookstores carry English Bibles, including Lifeway, Family Christian Stores, and Barnes & Noble. There are also several websites online where you can read the Bible in English. Bible Gateway is a website where you can find many translations of the Bible.
As you read, ask Allah to show you the Truth about the Bible and Isa Al-Masih. If you pray this, He will answer!

The Greatest Truth

The Bible tells the greatest truth of all time. It tells how God planned from the very beginning of time to send Isa Al-Masih to Earth to die for the sins of the people on Earth! Isa died for you and your sins. He wants to be a part of your life. If you are interested in this, go to www.isaandislam.com/Way-of-Salvation to learn more.

[We invite you to visit us at https://www.isaandislam.com/way-of-salvation to learn more about God’s gift of Salvation. God loves you and waits to hear from you. Isa clearly said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Injil, John 14:6). Brothers,

The Bible is for all of humanity. It can be read in many different languages and the God of the Bible hears and understands all of them.

This is different from the Quran where God knows only Arabic and hears from one direction. Different ethnic groups translate the Bible in their own dialect, that’s why you think it was altered, but this is a misunderstanding. The meaning is the same and it can only be understood by those with the Holy Spirit.

    Moh. Fayz Hossai and others,

Assalamualeykum. I have been reading the Quran for many years. It was given for the people of Mecca, and its surrounding Arab tribes, who had been idol worshipers for centuries. It’s content in their mother tongue, Arabic, was a clear warning from hell fire and to get ready for the judgment day.

Qs 42:7 – “And thus We have revealed to you an Arabic Qur’an that you may warn the Mother of the Towns (Makah) and whomever are dwelling around it, and to warn of the Day of Gathering,…”

This very Qur’an was really meant to confirm the earlier books, the Taurat, Zabur and Injil, which were although present in their original languages, not available in the Arabic language to Muhammad (pbuh).

The manuscript called the Mt. Sinai Arabic Codex 151, dates back to AD 867. It is the oldest Arabic translation of the Bible (Turat, Zabur, Injil).

Have you read both books, compared them, and come to a conclusion?

      Dear Stefan,

It’s true that Muslims should learn more about the previous books, which were confirmed by the Quran.

I came across your website by chance and it is encouraging for me. I like your analogy of a bridge. May God bless this journey.

Christians believe that Jesus is God. There are many verses in the New Testament which testify to this. 1 John 4:15 says, ‘If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in them and they in God.’ John 8:58 says, ‘Truly, Truly, I tell you, before Abraham was, I am.’

      Dear Janet,

We believe the Bible is the Word of God and salvation is through Jesus Christ. “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).” Jesus said, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life (John 14:6).”
