Everything in the Quran that agrees with the Bible is accepted by Christians. However, Christians will not accept the Quran as a divine revelation if any part of the Quran contradicts either the Bible or the Quran itself.
The Creation Story
Christians believe that Heaven and Earth were created in six days. This is stated in the Bible and some verses of the Quran. But, the Quran in Sura 41:9-12 tells us that the earth was finished in six days, and the heavens took an additional two days to create. How can this be? The Bible’s creation story is consistent from beginning to end wherein the Quran’s creation story changes from six days in Sura 7:54 to eight days in Sura 41:9-12
The Crucifixion of Jesus
The most compelling contradiction for a Christian concerns the death of Jesus. The Bible tells us that Jesus was crucified and died upon the cross. In Qs 19:33, the Quran agrees with the Bible. But Qs 4:157-158 denies the death of Jesus. Which one is true? Jesus did not die (Qs 4:157,158), or Jesus did die (Qs 19:33)”…the day I was born, and the day I die, and the day I shall be raised alive!”
Mary the Mother of Jesus
The Bible tells us that Mary was the mother of Jesus, and Miriam was the sister of Moses and Aaron. The Quran names Mary as the sister of Aaron, when Aaron lived 1570 years before Mary (Qs 19:28). If the Quran is perfect, why doesn’t it differentiate between Miriam, the sister of Moses and Aaron, and Mary who became the mother of Jesus Christ (Qs 19:28)? Also, Mary was not from the tribe of Levi, but from the tribe of Judah.
Is Alcohol to be Enjoyed or Is It Evil?
In Qs 47:15, those who keep their duty to God are promised rivers of wine. In Qs 5:90, alcohol is referred to as Satan’s handiwork.
Noah’s Family was Saved from the Flood
The Bible teaches that Noah and all his children were saved from the flood in Genesis Chapters 7-8. The Quran agrees with this in Qs 21:76, but is contradicted in Qs 11:43. Which part of the Quran is true? ”Noah … we saved him and his household from the great affliction” (Qs 21:76); or, ”Noah cried unto his son … 0 my son! Come ride with us and be not with the disbelievers. He said: ‘I shall betake me to some mountain that will save me from the water.’ . . . And the wave came in between them, so he was among the drowned” (Qs 11:42-43).
Free Will or Compulsion of Religion
Which of the statements is true? “There is no compulsion of religion” (Qs 2:256), or “0 Prophet! Strive against the disbelievers and the hypocrites, and remain firm against them” (Qs 66:9). “Fight against such of those who have been given the Scripture and believe not in God nor the Last Day, and forbid not that which God has forbidden by His messenger, and follow not the religion of truth …” (Qs 9:29). There are also many other verses which have no connection with defending oneself, but only teach attacking people, warring against them, killing them, and forcing people to become Muslims.
King Solomon and the Jinn
According to the Quran in Qs 34:12-14, King Solomon was assisted by jinn (genies) in the building of the temple and other works. The works of King Solomon are all detailed in the Bible. The idea of jinn helping build the temple of God is preposterous.
Abraham and Idols
Is it true that Abraham, the father of faith and the worshiper of the one true God, kept one large idol and lied about it? (Qs 21:59-61)
Other Contradictions and Questionable Verses
The Bible states that Terah was the father of Abraham (Genesis 11:26), not Azar (Qs 6:75).
The Bible tells us that Pharaoh’s daughter adopted Moses (Exodus 2:5). The Quran states that Moses was adopted by Pharaoh’s Wife (Qs 28:8, 9).
The Bible tells us that it was Gideon, a judge of Israel, who led the battle against the Midianites (Judges 7). The Quran states that it was King Saul Qs 2:249-251). Also, this was not the time of Goliath (Qs 2:249).
In the Quran, Haman is confused with Pharaoh (Qs 28:6, 7, 38; 40:24, 36). Pharaoh was in Egypt, but Haman was in Persia (Esther 3:1-7). There were hundreds of years between the time of Pharaoh and Haman, so it was impossible for Pharaoh to command Haman to build a tower.
Which one of these statements is correct? “Mothers shall suckle their children for two whole years” (Qs 2:233), or “… the bearing of him and the weaning of him is thirty months…” (Qs 46:15)? Does this mean being pregnant with a child for six months is usual and enough?
Is it true that cow’s milk comes from its stomach? “…drink that which is in their bellies, from betwixt the refuse and the blood, pure milk …” (Qs 16:66).

What you say is definitely a big lie. Allah warned Muslims in the Quran about forgery of holy books by Jews and Christians . Allah was right because Christians corrupted their own bible over 30,000 times.
The contradictions in the Quran compare to the Bible are out of the box because the Bible is corrupted so it has no authority to compare to compare with Quran.
If Quran says Jesus was not crucified than that is the truth and you Christians have to accept that.
~
Mehrour,
Thank you for your comment. The problem of your sayings is that they are baseless. The Taurat and Injil have been accused because they have been altered. But no one can give any proofs. You cannot also base all of your sayings on the Quran. Because how can anyone know that the Quran was from Allah? The Quran cannot be tested. It just came in a sudden and only Muhammad knew about it. There were also no other testimonies from some people that Allah indeed talked to Muhammad.
You should believe the Taurat and Injil more than the Quran. Muhammad read the Taurat and Injil that you claimed that they were altered. Christians can prove the Taurat and Injil that existed during Muhammad’s lifetime. Those books are the books that existed nowadays. Please read this to learn more about why you should believe the Taurat and Injil more than the Quran: https://www.isaandislam.com/al-quran/is-it-only-the-koran-that-ought-to-be-believed-by-muslims.html. Thank you.

I am grateful to God for this exposition of comparing the Quran and the Bible. I am a Nigerian where the Quran is causing people to kill before they enter into the Kingdom of God while the God of love says in His ten commandments that we must not kill. After reading your article on verses compared and some disparities that people hold on to cause problems of religion. How can I get the Quran to read?
~
Dear Akinlotan,
We are glad to read your comment above. Yes, God doesn’t command His people to kill, but to love our neighbors as ourselves (Injil, Mark 12:31). Please read our other articles in other sections of this website in order to learn more about Islam and Christianity.

Hi Brother,
I want to believe that you did not understand those Quran verses you have referred to as contradiction in the Holy Qur’an. Qs 7:54 says that both the earth and the heavens were created in six days. Qs 41:9 says that Allah created the earth in two days. Qs 41:12 says that Allah created the seven heavens in two days.
~
Momoh Ibrahim Bao,
Do they sound contradicted? So how many days that God created both heavens and earth according to the Quran?
Also, through the article, we want to inform the readers that everything in the Quran that doesn’t agree with the Bible is not accepted by Christians.
Blessings,

Dear Alisher,
Thank you for your comment. Also, please read again the article; we wanted to explain the Muslims our point of view of the Quran. “Everything in the Quran that agrees with the Bible is accepted by Christians. However, Christians will not accept the Quran as a divine revelation if any part of the Quran contradicts either the Bible or the Quran itself.” So we want to explain some parts which are not accepted by Christians.

The Gospel of Mark:
“Although there is no direct internal evidence of authorship, it was the unanimous testimony of the early church that this Gospel was written by John Mark.” (From the NIV Bible Commentary, page 1488)
So, in reality, we don’t really know whether Mark was the sole author of this Gospel or not! And since The New Testament wasn’t even documented on paper until 150-300 years (depending on what Christian you talk to) after Jesus, then how are we to know for sure that the current “Gospel of Mark” wasn’t written by some pro of Mark?
~
Genuine Person,
The books of the Bible were written by different people with various backgrounds. Yet all of them agreed about Jesus’ deity who died on the cross and was resurrected on the third day. They would not make this powerful declaration, write about it, and stand firm on it to the point of death if it were not true.
`
Thanks, for the conversation. But do you know the origin of the Bible that you are trying to relate with the Quran. This Bible was written by people beginning with emperor Constantine (a pagan) until now people are
still making some changes.
~
Luyima,
The validity of the Bible can be traced back to its original manuscripts and the contents of the Bible has not changed even to this day.

I am a Muslim and my question is which one is the true book The Quran or The Bible as I am a Muslim. I respect both of them, because in my religion they both are sky books (Asmani Kitabien).
~ Sharab Khan,
The Holy Books that were written before Quran are the truth from Allah and Muhammad should not doubt it. Anyone who rejects the signs from Allah will perish (Qs 10:94-95). Therefore, it is very important to obey Allah’s command by reading these Holy Books which are Books of the Prophets, Taurat, Zabur & Injil to know the Truth from Allah.
We value your questions and comments. Please write to for further questions or discussion.

The Seven Ahruf associated with the Linguistics Science and Linguistics Engineering and the Language pathology guides revealed that the Holy Qur’an is free from any error.
~
Engr Baba,
Then one should summit to Allah’s command. Allah clearly says that Isa is the Sign from Him so everyone is commanded to obey Isa and fear Allah (Qs 3:49-50) because Isa shall be the Sign for Judgement Day and there is no doubt about it. Therefore everyone is to follow Isa who is the Straight Way (Qs 43:61).

You should learn about Islam because there are lots of miracles in Quran. All wrong believes about Islam can be rejected by seeking help from a good Islamic scholar. You should search Quranic miracles on google and youtube. If you have any doubts, then ask from a good Islamic scholars.
We as Muslims respect Christians and Prophet Jesus (Peace Be Upon Him) and we invite Christians to Islam because Prophet Jesus (PBUH) was also a Prophet of God. Islam is true because all other Books of God have been changed except the Holy Book Quran. A scientist in University of Birmingham in 2015 has confirmed that the 1400 years old Quran is same today but the Holy Book Bible has been changed even at different parts of world. For this reason, Allah (God) said that He will save the last Book which is Quran.
~
Muhammad Waleed,
Contrary to your statement, it was not written in Quran that when you are in doubt, you need to ask a Muslim scholar or a scientist and search it in google or youtube. According to the Quran, “When you are in doubt, Muslims are commanded by Allah to read The Holy Books that were written before Quran. These books are the truth and you should not doubt it. Anyone who rejects these signs of Allah will perish” (Qs 10:94-95).
Therefore, it is very important to obey Allah’s command by reading the Holy Books which are the Books of the Prophets, Taurat, Zabur & Injil to know the Truth from Allah. Furthermore, the validity of these Holy Books can be traced back to their original Hebrew (100 BC) & Greek manuscripts (50 AD) and the contents have not changed even to this day.

“I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Injil, John 14:6).
I find this statement very confusing as he died 2000 years ago. How do I come to the Father if Jesus is already dead?
Also can you tell me why do people of the Book always change their answers. I never get a consistent answer like what does begotten mean. Some people say God consummated with Mary and some people say other things. Why would God want to commit such a lewd act?
Is it true that the bible has 200 words on “sword”? Did Jesus say “I come not to bring peace, but to bring a sword.” What does it mean? Is he going to war?
Please clear this up as this doesn’t make sense.
~
David,
Jesus died for human sins, was buried and then resurrected on the the third day. His resurrection was witnessed by more than 500 people (1 Corinthians 15:1-6). Therefore, Jesus is alive and right now He is sitting at the right hand side of God (Hebrew 10:12). That is why Jesus firmly says, “I am the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (John 14:6).
It is clearly written in the Injil that Jesus was born of a virgin (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23). Therefore there was not a lewd act involved. His virgin birth was prophesied 700 years before He had even been born.
“I come not to bring peace but to bring a sword” (Matthew 10:34). Jesus said this because following Him sometimes involves sacrifices to the point of death. His followers could be rejected and persecuted by family members, relatives and others. But Jesus’ promise of eternal life for those who believe Him stands forever as it is written: “Whoever finds his life will lose it and whoever loses his life for My sake will find it” (Matthew 10:39).
You don’t rely on people to find answers for life. To find the Truth and the Life, you need to go directly to the Bible which has never changed. Ask the living God for guidance. For further discussion, please email

Is Jesus a Muslim or a Christian? If Jesus taught us to love our enemies, why did some of His students crucify Him?
~
Anaqi Ariel,
Islam started 600 years after the life of Jesus so He was not a Muslim. It is not written in the Injil and history that Jesus’ disciples crucify Him. In fact, the majority of His disciples were crucified because they believed He was the Messiah. They remained faithful to the end because Jesus taught His disciples to love their enemies. They truly knew that God sent Jesus as the holy sacrifice to rescue humanity from power of sins.
~
Please don’t mislead people because the Quran doesn’t agree to the crucifixion of Isa Al-Masih. He was neither killed nor crucified but Allah raised him up to himself and killed another man that resembled Isa. Don’t spread your ahmadi belief as the general belief of Muslims.
~
Abdul Phatahu,
The world historians including a Syrian philosopher, Mara Bar-Serapion testified that Isa Al-Masih (Jesus) died on the cross. So why didn’t the Quran state the true event that was confirmed in the world history?
If Allah deceived people and killed another man in place of Isa (Jesus), how can then anyone trust and worship this Allah?
