Muslims And Christian Agree: “God Cannot Die!”

20 October 2017 by Aila Leave a Comment

Yellow CrossFor Muslims and Christians, the phrase “God died,” is odd! God cannot die!

If that’s true, why do Christians keep saying that Jesus, who they believe is God, died on the cross? Good question. Let’s clear up this misunderstanding.

Christian and Muslims Agree – God is Eternal and Omnipotent (Almighty)!

“. . . The LORD is the everlasting God . . .” (Isaiah 40:28). “[the] Lord will remain forever”(Al-Quran, Ar-Rahman [55]:27, Muhammad Sarwar Translation).

The Gospel declares: “Nothing is impossible with God” (Injil, Luke 1:37). The Quran states: “You [Allah] are able to do all things” (Quran, Al-Imran [3]:26).

So we agree on the eternity and omnipotence of God! But the question remains: Why do Christians believe that God, the eternal and all-powerful, died on the cross?

What do “Passed Away” and “Left this World” Mean?

Christians and Muslims believe that every person has an eternal soul. When a body dies, the soul leaves that body for another world, e.g., “passes away.” The soul continues to live, to exist, somewhere else.

So it is with the Kalimah Allah (Word of God) – Isa Al-Masih. He is eternal and one with God, but He left heaven. By the miracle of the incarnation, the eternal “Kalimah Allah” was born of the Virgin Mary. He became a man and lived in a human body for 33 years. (Email us if you feel it’s impossible for Kalimah Allah to  become a man.)

On the cross, the “Kalimah Allah” left His physical body. Although His body died, Isa, the eternal Kalimah Allah, continues to exist. The Injil states that Isa received a new, heavenly body. He lives in heaven today, and will return to earth to judge all mankind as written in Injil (2 Timothy 4:1) and Al-Quran (43:61).

So God cannot die! It is much better to say that Isa Al-Masih, when crucified, left His physical body! He left his mortal body and returned to heaven in his glorified body.

questionThe Question that Determines the Eternal Destiny of Muslims and Christians

All want to know: “Does God love me?” and “Does God care about me?” Email our staff if you want to become certain of God’s love for you.

He does care about us. He wants us to live eternally with him in heaven. But first He must help us deal with our sin, guilt and shame.

Through His crucifixion and resurrection, Isa Al-Masih opened a way so that you can receive eternal life and live with Him forever in heaven.
