A pastor wanted to hold a Christmas celebration in a village in Indonesia. He asked for permission from the neighborhood leader. The pastor would explain about the miraculous birth of Isa Al-Masih and read verses from the Quran and Injil.
The leader agreed but under one condition. As the leader, he thought he should give the talk about Isa to his people. Let’s see what happens when a Muslim leads a Christmas celebration.
The Muslim Leader Studied about Isa Al-Masih’s Birth
Before the event, the leader studied some verses about Isa Al-Masih’s birth:
“He said, ‘I am only the messenger of your Lord to give you [news of] a pure boy.’ She said, ‘How can I have a boy while no man has touched me and I have not been unchaste?’ He said . . . your Lord says, ‘It is easy for Me, and We will make him a sign to the people and a mercy from Us . . .’” (Qs 19:19-21).
“And (remember) her who guarded her chastity: We breathed into her of Our spirit, and We made her and her son a sign for all peoples” (Qs 21:91).
“’The virgin will conceive and give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel’ (which means ‘God with us’)” (Injil, Matthew 1:23).
The leader realized Isa Al-Masih was the only person to be born of a virgin. He was born through Ruh Allah (Spirit of Allah).
Why did Isa need to be born from a virgin? Why did Isa Al-Masih get the title “Immanuel” if He was only a prophet? Please respond through this email.
The Muslim Leader Discovered Isa Al-Masih’s Deity
“After Jesus [Isa Al-Masih] was born in Bethlehem in Judea . . . Magi from the east came to Jerusalem and asked, ‘Where is the one who has been born king of the Jews? We . . . have come to worship him’ . . . On coming to the house . . . they bowed down and worshiped him” (Injil, Matthew 2:1-2, 11).
The leader concluded that Isa was more than just a prophet, because the Magi (wise men) worshipped Him, and no one stopped them. How could they worship Him if He wasn’t Allah?
The Muslim Leader Turns to Isa Al-Masih for Truth
One week after the Christmas celebration, the pastor returned to see the leader. The leader said he couldn’t stop thinking about the verses. If they were true, he should start following the teaching of Isa Al-Masih in the Injil, and so he has.
What about you? It’s clear the birth of Isa Al-Masih was miraculous and unique. Study the verses above and ask Allah the Creator to show you the right path. Email us if you want to learn about the birth of Isa with our staff.
