Islam thinks the Bible has been falsified; therefore, it is not reliable. According to Sheik Hakim, Isa Al-Masih is one of the prophets of Israel. “If someone says that Isa Al-Masih is God, then you are an agnostic,” he says firmly.
Sheik Memorized the entire Al-Quran
Hakim is from Africa. His dad wanted him to learn the Al-Quran from a young age. Therefore, Hakim studied the Al-Quran intensively, and memorized it from the age of two to eighteen years.
The Bible is Reliable
As a Sheik, he trained 300 religious Muslim teachers. When he was monitoring four mosques, a Christian evangelist gave him a Bible in Arabic. He accepted the Bible because it was written in God’s language–so it must be trustworthy.
Although Arabic was not his native language, it was familiar to him for having learned it for 16 years. He also believed Arabic was a holy language.
He remembered the evangelist had told him that Isa Al-Masih would come back to destroy the unbelievers with the breath of His mouth (Bible, 2 Thessalonians 2:8). He was confused because he remembered a similar statement in the Hadith that Isa Al-Masih will return to judge the world.
Then the Sheik prayed, “God, if you know my heart, please show me what I should do. Is the Bible true?”
Recurring Dreams
That night Isa Al-Masih showed the Sheik a vision through a dream. Hakim saw someone was fixing the mega phone on the mosque’s tower. Looking down, he saw a man was demolishing the mosque’s foundation with an axe. Then he realized that man was him.
He had that same dream four times. Later, he asked the Christian evangelist the meaning of his dream. With a smile, the evangelist said, “You will win many Sheiks for God.”
The Bible is Trustworthy
Hakim learned that the Bible teaches many of the same doctrines as the Al-Quran. It has the same principles whether it is written in Arabic, Hebrew, Greek or any other language. Having now studied the Bible, he believes that Isa Al-Masih is God.
Below is a Bible verse from the book of Matthew 1:21–in Arabic and English.
فَسَتَلِدُ ابْنًا وَتَدْعُو اسْمَهُ يَسُوعَ. لأَنَّهُ يُخَلِّصُ شَعْبَهُ مِنْ خَطَايَاهُمْ»
“Mary will give birth to a son and you are to give him the name Jesus [Isa Al-Masih] because He will save His people from their sins.”
