Allah Does Not Forget You

21 April 2017 by Jasmin Leave a Comment

al fatihah1“Bismillahir rahmanir rahim” is the opening statement of every chapter in the Quran except for chapter 9. Sheik Muhsin Qira’ati in his commentary writes that when we pronounce “Bismillah,” we are saying, “Allah, I am not forgetting you; hopefully, you will not forget me.”

Have you ever wondered if Allah does forget you? That might be the case when problems and stresses weigh heavily on your heart. You still pronounce “Bismillah,” but God does not answer. It seems that God does not really care about you. You then ask, “Did Allah forget me?”

Sin Separates You from the Holy God

“We sent Isa [Jesus] to confirm the Law that came before Him and sent Him the Gospel” (Qs 5:46). The Law and the Gospel teach that when sin came into the world, humans were then separated from the divine God.

Adam and Eve disobeyed God’s command by eating the forbidden fruit. It seems like a small matter, but disobedience is sin. Sin is wickedness in the sight of the holy God. “It’s your sins that have cut you off from God. Because of your sins, he has turned away and will not listen anymore” (The Book of the Prophets, Isaiah 59:2,NLT).

Father sonGod Doesn’t Forget You

“. . . We who created man, and We know what dark suggestions his soul makes to him: for We are nearer to him than (his) jugular vein” (Qs 50:16). Did Allah forget you because of your sin? The Prophet Isaiah writes that God will never forget His creation. “Can a mother forget the baby at her breast and have no compassion on the child she has borne? Though she may forget, I will not forget you” (The Book of the Prophets, Isaiah 49:15).

Isa Al-Masih is the Right Way

“O you who believe! Turn to Allah with sincere repentance” (Qs 66:8). Allah does not forget you, and He wants you to repent from your sinful heart and sinful living. God’s Word teaches us to “Repent and believe the good news of God” (The Injil, Mark 1:15). This good news is known as the Gospel.

“. . . follow Me [Isa]: this is the straight Way” (Qs 43:61). Isa Al-Masih (Jesus) declares that “I am the way, the truth and the life” (The Injil, John 14:6). It is God’s loving way to guide us to the truth and have eternal life.

Isa clearly said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me” (Injil, John 14:6).
